I, Karen Tilley run Karen's Tours, a small private Guide Service for
visitors & newcomers out of the East Shore of Kauai. I focus on the North Shore and the East side of Kauai.

To me, the North shore of Kauai is the most beautiful on earth, and there are countless beaches and places of
outstanding beauty to be experienced there.

The East side also has plenty of breath-taking beaches, plus super forests to explore, some with streams and breathtaking waterfalls.

Each Tour is Customized to you... the Client.

If you want to Hike Kauai with me as your Guide:
*hike for 1 hour to 5 hours - through old Hawaiian forests and by streams and waterfalls
*hike along a remote and gorgeous coastline for 1.5 to 4 hours, possibly spotting a sleeping monk seal
*hike up the ridge of a small mountain for a half day of "high" adventure
*hike along many different beaches and coastlines (each one gorgeous in it's own unique way)
*hike through a bamboo forest and cross rivers in a special hike
*hike along the Napali Trail ( better you do that without me though! )
*hike through a East side forest full of ferns, and hala. Walk through tall stands of ancient trees

( Which beach /coastline or forest area will depend on various factors: including what kind of
beach or coastline YOU prefer, (we'll discuss that later), how many hours you want to hike for, and weather and wave conditions)

Some people don't want to hike:
They'd rather do only a little walking. That's Super too!

If you happen to spot a Monk Seal, he's sleeping. Don't disturb him. We need to keep 150 feet away. ( This adolescent was behind the log, so I did not see him until I was at the log. 1 Hour Tour $100 - Meet on East Shore. We'll head to a magical beach.
There, at that gorgeous location, we can either hike, walk or sit... and I'll suggestions on how to
best make use of your precious time here on Kauai.

3 Hour Tour $150 (includes going to different locations and
learning things you want to know) (want to see Gilligan's Island beach?)
Each Additional Person add $30

Full Day rate (6 or so hours) $260
Each Additional Person add $30

Safety first. Being a mother, ( son is now 21! ) I am very concerned about safety!

It's important to know where it is safe to swim.... or walk on Kauai.




The song "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair and send him on his way!"
from the movie South Pacific, was filmed at 'Nurses Beach' on Kauai.

Tip: Find out why this beach is a very common place for visitor drownings.
(DO Not stand on the black rock TONGUE of lava rock. Many visitors get killed standing
on the rock, as rogue waves ( every few minutes...) sweep over them and killing them.

Also, the long stretch of Lumahai beach ( not seen in this photo) is deadly for swimming. The drop off, and strong current pulls you
out to sea. Do Not swim along the beautiful long beach of LumaDie. ( that's what the locals refer to it, sometimes)
